What's happening?

We are now recruiting the research team who will carry out the work. We have secured half of the funds needed for this research and the remaining money needed will be sought in collaboration with the successful research team.

Mary MacLeod, CEO of the Family and Parenting Institute has kindly agreed to take on the role of chair of the independent advisory group and will also chair the recruitment committee.

The database is now being thoroughly tested and will be available to Respect members later this year.

Getting involved

In order to take part in the research, at least two programmes will have to be willing with work with the research team over two years. The researchers will be recruiting men and their partners and ex-partners, to track over the course of programme participation and beyond, in order to look at the lasting effects of taking part in programmes.

If your organisation wishes to be considered as one of the sites you will need to:

* Pass the Respect Accreditation process
* Have sufficient numbers of programme participants
* Be willing to work with the research team

We are also ensuring that the advisory group contains a range of members including practitioners, researchers and funders.

NEW! Respect client information and outcome management system

As part of our services for supporting programmes, Purpose built computer system for perpetrator programmes!

* Can’t keep up with client paper work? Funders want information today?
* No computer record keeping system and no money or time to commission one?
* Too many record keeping systems?
* Takes ages for you to get together all the information you need for a case review or child protection case conference?
* Fed up of high quotes and weird techie language from IT specialists?

Wish you had a purpose built computer system that was easy to use, highly responsive to your needs and produces the information you need at a single click of a button (and doesn’t cost a fortune)?

LOOK NO FURTHER!

The Respect client information management system is coming soon…..

Respect has been working with practitioners working with men and in allied women’s services to create a truly unique piece of kit every programme will want to own…

* Simple to use
* Brings together client records, risk assessments, records of group attendance, suitability assessments and outcome data collection
* Provides you with instant client reports for case reviews or child protection work
* High levels of security built in and ways of customising this for you
* Instant data for funding applications, publicity and review
* Data Protection Act compliant
* Generates reminders about tasks and appointments
* It will help you to pass Respect Accreditation!

It doesn’t run the groups, interview clients or make the tea but it allows you to concentrate on these things instead of having to run around collecting bits of paper or trying to remember what it was you were supposed to ring so-and-so about today…

This system is being completed at the moment and piloted with a member organisation and should be available later this year….It will then be available to all Respect members AT VERY VERY LOW COST!

You will have support for using this system from Respect Evaluation Project Manager, who will be able to make alterations to suit specific needs and help you to analyse your data. It will also help us to be able to provide clear national data about the use and results of perpetrator programmes.

If you are thinking of commissioning a computer system for your organisation – DON’T! Come and have a preview of the system at the next National Practitioners’ Network or arrange an online preview from September onwards.

The system has been developed in a joint piece of work involving practitioners, database designers, researchers and others. It incorporates an amended version of tools developed by Rebecca and Russell Dobash and in co-operation with them, to support the collection of useful data about the outcomes of programme participation.
The system will be available to all Respect members at low cost by early 2009.
