July 2011

Fresh Start is taking referrals.

This new service sets out to test and explore a number of ideas, approaches and service models in providing individual work with those using violence and abuse in relationships.

The service is based around an individual programme for perpetrators of domestic violence. It builds upon a programme developed by Respect, NOMS and the Scottish Government. It aims to provide a flexible model of work responsive to the spectrum of individual needs of these men and their families.

  • The service will work closely with Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conferences, Independent Domestic Violence Advisors, Children's Social Care, Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangements and other agencies and protocols across the whole of Buckinghamshire. Fresh Start aim to enhance the provision of a co-ordinated response across the Buckinghamshire.

  • The service seeks to engage with those individuals identified as at high risk of committing further violence towards partners and ex-partners. Referrals to Fresh Start should show some commitment to constructing lives without abuse.

  • The service is being delivered by a consortium of Respect, Women's Aid and Relate in Milton Keynes and Buckinghamshire.

Fresh Start is now taking referrals from professionals in Buckinghamshire, see below to make a referral. Service delivery takes place in Aylesbury, Milton Keynes or High Wycombe.
