How we help professionals

Frontline workers and male victims of domestic violence

We regularly receive calls from professionals who, whilst having a knowledge of domestic violence, struggle when working with men who identify as victims. Our helpline is open to professionals and we welcome your enquiries with regard to any aspect of working with men who are experiencing domestic violence.

The Men's Advice Line and frontline workers

We help frontlint workers who work directly or indirectly with male victims of domestic violence in the following ways:

  1. We run a one-day training course for anyone who works/will work with male victims of domestic violence and abuse. More information about the training course, upcoming dates and costs here.
  2. We have published a Toolkit on work with male victims of domestic violence, it includes research conducted via the Men's Advice Line, available here
  3. We run a confidential, freephone number helpline with skilled and experienced helpline workers. Read about our service standards and download an evaluation report here
  4. We have published a booklet for men experiencing domestic violence, you can download it in PDF format here
