There is consistent evidence collected that shows that two women per week are killed in England and Wales by their partner/ ex-partner. Recent research has begun to capture the hidden epidemic of domestic abuse victims dying by suicide. This PDD will explore risk and best practice around supporting survivors who may express suicidal ideation.

This PDD will help practitioners to understand how findings from current research can be implemented into their practice moving forward.

This practice development session will help practitioners:

  • Undertake case-management and collaborative work with the facilitators to address the risks.
  • Identify urgent risk issues and determine next steps.
  • Feel confident in undertaking information-sharing and safeguarding actions with other agencies.
  • Feel confident in supporting the survivor and assessing risk pertaining to suicidality.
