Tanya’s background is in health and development research and she lived and worked in South Africa for many years. In the UK she has worked for a number of organisations including conducting academic research for a private health and social care consultancy and in the charitable sector. Tanya has a degree in Psychology from York University and Masters in Development Planning from University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. In the UK she has worked in the mental health, substance misuse and dementia sector where she was a research translation manager for the Alzheimer’s Society. She is interested in using research to inform and develop services and collecting data to help understand who services are supporting, the impact of interventions and how evidence can be used to strengthen and develop services.
Outside of work Tanya can often be found clad in lurid coloured lycra as she is a keen runner and cyclist.
