Ciara joined Respect in 2018 as the Development Manager for Make a Change (MAC), where she developed both the model and the associated programme manual and training packages.
In 2020 she became MAC's Head of Delivery and Development, responsible for the project's ongoing roll-out and implementation. She is also currently developing and piloting a new, remotely delivered Domestic Abuse Perpetrator Programme for fathers in family court proceedings concerning contact arrangements.
Before joining Respect, Ciara spent almost a decade working with both perpetrators of domestic abuse and victims/survivors. She spent 7 years at the Domestic Violence Intervention Project (DVIP) - first as an individual and groupwork practitioner, and later as Manager and Senior Risk Assessor of the Family Courts Team.
She left DVIP to become a National Practice Lead at Pause, an organisation dedicated to supporting women with complex needs, arising from issues including domestic abuse. Ciara is also a qualified DHR chair, Groupwork Practitioner at the Institute of Group Analysis, and certified Safe and Together trainer.
