Debbie started her career in Domestic abuse in 2009, at this time she was working on a local authority project run by an independent charity. The Project was a free service that assisted survivors of domestic abuse through the civil court process and was successful in helping survivors gain Non-Molestation Orders which they sometimes did not have access to due to varying barriers.

In 2012 she joined the Local Authority and had various roles including frontline experience as a social work assistant. 2016 she joined the MASH team and in 2017 she started a role as DRM (Daily risk management) coordinator. The DRM is a multiagency meeting held daily reviewing high risk cases including high risk domestic abuse, the role of the DRM in high-risk domestic abuse cases meant that survivors could have access to services in a timely manner.
