Emma Hier is Respect’s Accreditation Assessor. In her role she is responsible for assessing the safety and effectiveness of perpetrator interventions, ensuring services are compliant with the Respect Standard before gaining accreditation.

Previously, Emma worked with colleagues at Welsh Women’s Aid to implement the Change that Lasts approach, which aims to change communities’ and professionals’ responses to domestic abuse and the women experiencing it. Emma led on the implementation of CLEAR, a complementary strand of the Change that Lasts approach that works with people concerned about their abusive behaviour.

Prior to this, Emma worked in the probation service, and brings to Respect a thorough understanding of the criminal justice system.

In her spare time, you’ll find Emma weightlifting and listening to heavy metal.
