Karima joined Respect in 2021 and leads the communications and policy activity for Make a Change.

She previously worked at Scottish charity Children 1st, developing and delivering media and marketing content that supported the charity’s purpose to prevent child abuse and neglect and keep children safe. While there, Karima worked on a broad range of campaigns and projects, including the campaign for equal protection of children in Scots Law and the family support service, Children 1st Parentline. Alongside her paid work, Karima provides communications and policy support as a volunteer at #MEAction, a grassroots movement advocating for health equity for people living with myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME).

Outside of work, Karima enjoys socialising with friends, particularly over some good food, or curling up with a cup of tea and a book.
