Katy joined Respect in October 2021 as the Training and Development manager. She oversees the training provided by Respect and writes and delivers training according to the needs of the sector. Katy also represents Respect on the London VAWG consortium.

Katy has a criminal justice background, having completed her degree in Criminology and Sociology before training as a probation officer. She became the VAWG lead in her area, sitting on MARAC and developing DV practice within Probation. Katy got her start in the VAWG sector as a volunteer on a helpline and fell in love with the work, from there becoming a perpetrator worker at DVIP.

She then became an IDVA specialising in multiple disadvantage and entrenched homelessness, and then a Senior housing IDVA, where she wrote and delivered bespoke training to the local authority on housing, DV and practice. Katy is an experienced trainer and has worked with both perpetrators and survivors of DV.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading, picnics and going for brunch!
