Respect is the UK membership association for domestic violence perpetrator programmes and associated support services. Our key focus is on increasing the safety of those experiencing domestic violence through promoting effective interventions with perpetrators.

NEW: Respect Accreditation application pack

The accreditation system is now live as of 1st April 2008. In order to decide if your organisation is ready for accreditation, you can complete the self assessment workbook (link below). Use this to assess for yourself what you might need to do to be ready.

You can also download the full application pack (link below). This includes a checklist, application forms, guidance about the process and the desktop review list.
You should refer to the Respect Accreditation Standard (link below) for all the requirements your organisation must fulfil in order to become accredited.

Respect Phoneline 0845 122 8609

The Respect Phoneline 0845 122 8609 is an information and advice line for people who are concerned about their abusive and/or violent behaviour towards their partners.

Most of our callers are men who are violent or abusive towards their (ex)partners and are looking for help to stop.

We also get calls from (ex) partners, friends and family of abusive men who want to find out what help is available for the abuser.

Professionals who come into contact with domestic violence abusers in their work are also welcome to call us. We provide information about specialist behaviour change programmes, best practice and general advice on how to deal with domestic violence.

Although most of our callers are men in heterosexual relationships, we welcome calls from people in same-sex relationships as well as from women who are violent or abusive towards their male partners.

Men's Advice Line 0808 801 0327

The Men's Advice Line is a confidential helpline for men experiencing domestic violence and abuse. It offers emotional support, information, practical safety advice and signposting to other specialist services for legal, housing, mental health, child contact etc advice.

The Men's Advice Line is available on freephone number 0808 801 0327 (free from landlines and most mobiles) on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 10am-1pm and 2pm-5pm
A voicemail service operates when the lines are closed or busy.
