Today marks the launch of our annual impact report, giving an insight into Respect’s achievements in 2022/23, and looking ahead to what comes next.
This year:
- We continued our work around equity, diversity and inclusion, focusing on building a culture of inclusion and belonging at Respect.
- We delivered a comprehensive sector of support programme, helping front-line professionals to respond confidently and safely to perpetrators, male victims, and young people using harm.
- We supported and advocated for our growing membership and continued our work accrediting services that provide safe and effective provision: both for perpetrators, and for male victims.
- Our helplines were the first port of call for male victims looking for support, and perpetrators looking to change. Our helplines were contacted almost 50,000 times this year.
- We grew our projects to give perpetrators across England and Wales meaningful opportunities to change, and to keep survivors safe.
- We expanded our work with young people, because we know that to end domestic abuse, we need to intervene early.

This report launches in the wake of our new strategy, which charts a course for Respect's ambitions over the next five years and reaffirms the charity’s focus on perpetrators of domestic abuse.
