How is Safe and Together being evaluated?

The Child and Woman Abuse Studies Unit (CWASU), London Metropolitan University are evaluating the implementation of the Safe & Together (S&T) approach across your borough.

The evaluation is in its third year, and Years 1 and 2 work included:
- Pre- and post training feedback surveys
- Interviews with the project team - implementation leads, borough leads
- Interviews with children's social care professionals
- Action learning sets with children’s social care professionals
- Analysis of children's social care data.

Quality Assurance: Year 3 will continue these strands of data collection, but evaluators will also explore in more depth, themes that emerged during Year 2. Year 2 for example, highlighted quality assurance as a space where change was being and could be affected.

Systemic Tensions: Year 2 findings also highlighted perceived tensions between Safe & Together and systemic approaches in social work, as well as potential opportunities and possibilities to blend the two. Evaluators will be working with professionals to explore this in more depth – if you would like to contribute to this, please join an action learning set.
